Donation

From June 13-18, customers were able to contribute to Farm Bureau’s Cram the Cab Campaign through round-up at the register and non-perishable food donations. All contributions will be provided to Dallas County food pantries. In addition to food contributions, $1,069.62 was raised by Dallas Country Fareway customers!

Farm Bureau’s Cram the Cab Campaign responds to the local needs of seven food banks in Dallas County, as they work to stamp out hunger. According to the Iowa Food Bank Association, one out of eight Iowans struggle with hunger. The food drive challenged area customers to fill up an entire tractor cab with groceries. VanWall Equipment in Perry proudly provided the tractor.

“We are excited to partner with Farm Bureau on their Cram the Cab Campaign,” said Perry Fareway Store Manager, Travis Landgrebe. “Thanks to our customers for both monetary and food donations, we appreciate your generosity as we work together to help feed those in need in Dallas County.”

“This first-ever Cram the Cab Campaign has been incredibly successful,” said Sharon Hicks, Dallas County Farm Bureau. “We appreciate the support of the Perry Fareway Store staff and their customers to help provide this considerable contribution.”

Proceeds were raised through donations made directly at the Fareway Store in Perry. The round-up at the register allowed customers to round-up to the next dollar or provide an additional donation at the time of grocery purchase. Non-perishable food donations were also accepted.
