Embracing diversity and inclusion in our communities

As a midwest grocery store, community is a big part of who we are at any Fareway Grocery Store. We take pride in the community inclusion and community support efforts created to support a united front. With a highly diverse team, we are always motivated to work on employee engagement throughout our various store locations.

Fareway Stores are proud to support organizations that value, support, nurture, and provide resources to historically discriminated populations. These include but are not limited to, those based on race/ethnicity, age, special needs, gender/orientation/identity, socioeconomic status, or religion.

Employee Dedication

Beyond providing high quality customer service, our employees are an asset to the communities in which they live. While helping out neighbors and businesses, we are proud to support local, charitable organizations through direct involvement and donated resources.

In more than 80 years Fareway has sponsored or contributed to a variety of community support services and causes. These services support our values of integrity, fairness, and honesty, perfectly.

Fareway Partnerships

Easterseals Iowa

Easterseals Iowa provides exceptional services for equal opportunities. All people and families with disabilities or special needs have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities.

We love our partnership with Fareway. They are actively engaged with our mission, supporting us at so many levels, from bringing treats to our campers, to providing event sponsorship, and wrapping a semi-trailer with the faces of our smiling campers. They recently provided emergency COVID support to help us through this crisis. The team at Fareway truly does care about our clients and community.

- Sherri Nielsen, president and CEO of Easterseals Iowa

Camp Courageous

Camp Courageous inspires a world where individuals with special needs are empowered with courage. They are then able to look beyond their current capabilities and explore the world with confidence.

Camp Courageous has had a wonderful relationship with Fareway for more than 30 years. Staff have always gone out of their way to accommodate the massive amount of food the camp uses, along with the many special diets served. We cannot say enough good about the above and beyond work Fareway has done for Camp Courageous, from the local store to corporate.

-Charlie Becker, CEO of Camp Courageous
