Vice President of Training and Development

Roxanne Kanne-Roush

Roxanne re-joined Fareway. in January 2009 and currently holds the position of Vice President of Corporate Training & Development (T&D) for the corporation. Roxanne and her team support more than 12,000 employees in a seven-state region leading the corporation’s T&D efforts. Her team has primary responsibility for the development and continued refinement of management training programs, development and coordination of the Corporate Retail Sales Team, the Retail Internship programs and Registered Apprenticeships. In addition, T&D coordinates new store opening requirements in partnership with Retail Management. Lastly, the T&D team facilitates special projects in a variety of areas across the company.

Roxanne’s previous experience includes a 25 year career with Saks, Inc. While at Saks, Roxanne assumed increasing roles of responsibility including corporate internal auditor, IT systems analyst, management information systems corporate manager, basic stock replenishment corporate manager, MIS director, and finally, corporate director-electronic data interchange.

In addition to her retail tenure, Roxanne holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Simpson College, Indianola, Iowa. She currently serves as a director for Cornerstone Credit Union, serves on the Advisory Committee for the Iowa Clearinghouse for Work-based Learning and on the Economic Potential for Iowa Companies (EPIC) Advisory Council. She is a member of the Iowa Grocery Industry Association (IGIA), and founding member of IGIA Women’s Network, as well as Metro Women Connect (MWC) and Women Lead Change (WLC). She has been honored as a 2014 Griffin Women of Influence in Grocery recipient and 2018 Progressive Grocer Senior-level Top Women Executive in the Industry.

Roxanne and her husband, Kent, are the parents of two adult daughters, Anne Roush Spurgin and Kristine Roush Anderson, and reside outside of Grimes, Iowa.
