(JOHNSTON, IA) – Fareway Stores, Inc. hosted a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday for a new Fareway Meat and Grocery store in Basehor, KS at 15790 State Avenue. The 21,000 square-foot store will be the first full-size Fareway Meat and Grocery location in the state of Kansas and will feature a built-in smoker to provide the freshest smoked items typically only offered at Fareway Meat Market locations.
“Today is an exciting day for Fareway as we begin construction on our first full-size Fareway Meat and Grocery store in the state of Kansas,” Fareway CEO, Reynolds Cramer said. “The Basehor community is a perfect match for our newest store where customers can expect the highest quality meat, freshest produce and our commitment to provide them customer service with gratitude.”
The new store will provide for only the best in fresh, highest quality meat; a full-service butcher counter; farm-fresh produce; low, competitive prices; and the highest level of customer service, including to-your-car carryout. The new store will offer FastLanes, a self-service checkout option, and online shopping and curbside pick-up, available at Shop.Fareway.com. A back-up generator will also ensure operations continue without interruption should the store ever lose power.

Construction is underway with an anticipated grand opening by the end of the year. More details will be announced soon.
