  • 4 boneless pork chops 3/4 " thick
  • 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 cup applesauce
  • 2 Tbsp cinnamon red hot candies

Give your applesauce a red hot twist to update this family favorite standard!

Preparation Notes

When at the Fareway meat counter aske for the Ribeye Chops, they work wonderfully in this recipe!

Directions

  1. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. Brush chops lightly with oil and brown chops on both sides, turning once, about 3-4 minutes.

  3. Sprinkle chops with pepper, add broth and lemon juice.

  4. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer gently for 5 minutes or until internal temperature on a thermometer reads 145°F, followed by a 3-minute rest time.

  5. To serve, top with applesauce and cinnamon candies.

  6. In small saucepan, stir together 1 1/2 cups applesauce and 2 tablespoon candies. Heat over medium heat, stirring often, until candies are melted; stir well to thoroughly combine.
