Burgers
- 1 lb. ground pork
- 1/2 lb. chorizo
- 1/3 c. breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 small yellow onion, minced
- 1/3 c. green bell pepper, minced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp. kosher salt
- 6 hamburger buns
- 6 Tbsp. thousand island dressing
- 2 C. potatoes shoestring potato sticks OR French fried onions
- 6 lettuce leaves
You've never had a burger quite like this one! Combined with ground pork and spicy chorizo, these tasty homemade burgers are topped off with Thousand Island Dressing and French Fried Onions to make it your tastiest one yet. Did we mention there's veggies hidden inside?
Directions
1. Gently mix together ground pork, chopped chorizo, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, green pepper, garlic and salt. Shape into 6 patties (about 3/4-inch thick). Refrigerate for 10–15 minutes.
2. Heat grill to medium high heat, about 450⁰F.
3. Grill burgers, with the lid closed, for 5 minutes. Turn and finish cooking for 4–5 minutes, until cooked through or until the internal temperature reaches 160⁰F. Remove from grill.
4. Toast buns on the grill, about 1 minute per side. Build burgers on buns with 1½ tablespoons dressing, 1/3 cup shoestring potatoes and one lettuce leaf. Serve immediately.
