Grilled Avocado

Did you know avocados can be grilled!? The heat from the grill warms and softens the flesh of avocados while the smoke gives it the delicious, charred flavor we all love!


  • 2 avocado
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp lime juice
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 2 Tbsp cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese

  1. Stir together olive oil and lime juice.

  2. Brush avocados all over with olive oil mixture.

  3. Sprinkle cut sides of avocados with salt.

  4. Grill avocado halves, cut side down for 5 minutes;

  5. Fill centers of avocado halves with your favorite salsa and shredded cheese.

  6. Cover grill and grill until cheese begins to melt.

  7. Remove avocados from grill. Sprinkle tops of avocado halves with snipped cilantro, if desired.
