  • 1 lb. lasagna noodles
  • 30 oz. ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 12 oz. shredded mozzarella
  • 1 C. grated Parmesan cheese
Homemade Lasagna

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, add in ground sausage and ground beef. Add in onion and garlic and cook until meat is well browned. Add pasta sauce and stir well, bring to a simmer.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta or cottage cheese with egg.  Refrigerate until ready to assemble lasagna.

  3. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

  4. To assemble, spread about 1 cup of meat sauce in the bottom of a deep 9 x 13 pan.  Layer noodles, meat sauce, ricotta cheese mixture, and mozzarella cheese.  Repeat layers two more times and finish off with remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.  Cover loosely with aluminum foil.

  5. Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 25 minutes to allow cheese to brown.
