Homemade broth is a great way to use scraps and bones from the Thanksgiving turkey.
Use broth in any recipe that calls for chicken broth.
Place bones and scraps from the turkey along with a coarsely chopped onion, garlic cloves, carrots and celery into a large stock pot. Cover with water.
Add bay leaf and cover. Simmer for 2 hours.
Remove bones and strain broth. Season with salt and pepper as desired.
Refrigerate and discard the fat what will raise to the top after the broth has chilled.
