Lemon Basil Crab Legs

These lemon basil crab legs are great for celebrations or date nights at home. The sweet, fragrant basil holds its own against the bright lemon. The crab itself is perfectly tender and rich.


  • 1 1/2 pound crab legs
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp basil
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp lemon peel

  1. Thaw crab legs, rinse, and pat dry with a paper towel.

  2. Place crab legs, cut side up, on a greased unheated rack of a broiler pan. Stir together melted butter, basil, lemon peel, and lemon juice.

  3. Brush crab legs with butter mixture.

  4. Broil 4 to 6 inches from the heat for 3 to 4 minutes or until heated through.

  5. Serve with a side of melted butter for dipping.
