  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 4 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 package dark chocolate

Try these chewy homemade granola bars for a low sodium, low fat treat that is rich in whole grains. They are super simple to make, so get your kids involved and let them enjoy whole grain goodness.

Preparation Notes

You can add dried berries or nuts as desired.


  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.

  2. Soften butter.

  3. Mix all ingredients in a large mixing bowl.

  4. Lightly spray a 9x13 baking dish.

  5. Press the mixture into the pan.

  6. Bake for 20 minutes.

  7. Let cool for at least 10 minutes before cutting and serving.
