The season of good smells is back! Instead of burning that apple pie or cinnamon roll candle, try a simmer pot of boiling household spices. Simmer pots are a beautiful and easy way to make your home smell like fall. We have put a few of our favorite recipes below, but feel free to alter them as your nose pleases.

How to start:

Fill a saucepan with water and bring to a boil. Add the ingredients and simmer on low heat. Add water as needed, usually every 30-40 minutes.

Crock-Pot and other slow cookers can be used to create a simmer pot. Fill most of the way with water, add your ingredients, put on the lid, then set to high. When steam begins to roll off the lid, remove the lid and set the slow cooker to a low or warm setting. Add water as needed to keep it halfway full.
