Nathan Kerns is the senior vice president (SVP) – information technology (IT) for Fareway. Nathan joined Fareway in May 2009 and leads the IT department that supports more than 12,000 employees across seven states. As SVP-IT, Nathan oversees all aspects of the company’s IT, including strategy, vision, and operations, while supporting the business through cost-effective, secure practices, and ensuring technology alignment to strategic business objectives.
Nathan currently serves on the Technology Association of Iowa Board of Directors, Gilbert Community School Board, and other various boards & committees. Nathan is also involved in and supportive of several charitable organizations.
Prior to joining Fareway, Nathan worked at Best Buy Co., Inc. holding several retail and corporate leadership positions. Nathan is also an entrepreneur who founded a business with his wife.
Nathan received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa and holds both a Master of Business Administration and a Master in Management from the University of Dubuque.
Nathan and his wife, Katherine, are parents to two children and their family currently resides outside of Ames, Iowa.
