Senior Vice President of Training and Development

Roxanne Kanne-Roush

Roxanne Kanne-Roush rejoined Fareway in January 2009 and currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Training & Development (T&D). In this role, she and her team lead the company’s enterprise-wide training and development strategy, supporting more than 12,000 employees across a seven-state region.

Roxanne and her team oversee the design, delivery, and ongoing enhancement of the Fareway Institute (FI), which encompasses a wide range of development programs including Retail Management Training, Retail Internships, Mentorships, School-to-Work initiatives, Registered Apprenticeship programs, and the coordination of all Corporate internships. Additionally, the T&D team partners closely with Retail Management to support training needs for new store openings and collaborates on special projects and initiatives across the organization.

Prior to her return to Fareway, Roxanne spent 25 years with Saks, Inc., where she held progressively senior roles in corporate audit, information technology, and management information systems. Her responsibilities included corporate internal auditor, IT systems analyst, MIS corporate manager, basic stock replenishment corporate manager, MIS director, and ultimately, corporate director of electronic data interchange.

Roxanne holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. She actively contributes to several industry and community organizations, serving as an Advisor on the DMACC Business Resources Board, a member of the Advisory Committee for the Iowa Clearinghouse for Work-Based Learning, and a member of the Economic Potential for Iowa Companies (EPIC) Advisory Council. She is also involved with the Iowa Grocery Industry Association (IGIA), is a founding member of the IGIA Women’s Network, and participates in Metro Women Connect (MWC) and Women Lead Change (WLC). Her leadership has been recognized through numerous honors, including being named a 2014 Griffin Women of Influence in Grocery recipient and a 2018 Progressive Grocer Senior-Level Top Women Executive in the Industry.

Roxanne and her husband, Kent, reside outside Grimes, Iowa, and are the proud parents of two adult daughters, Anne Roush Spurgin and Kristine Roush Anderson.
