Rusty is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, earning a Masters of Engineering with emphasis in both Mechanical and Electrical Systems Engineering. Prior to Fareway, he served 24 years as a project manager, general manager, director and Vice President of Corporate Services for a global facilities maintenance, engineering and automation contractor leading facilities operations for consumer product and pharmaceutical clients such as Pepsi, Proctor and Gamble, Pfizer, Campbell's Soup, Nestle and Wells Blue Bunny through the US, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
As the Vice President of Campus Facilities and Project Engineering, Rusty identifies and delivers on strategic projects to ensure that our non-retail campuses are positioned to deliver the needs of our store customers for years to come.
Rusty was a Boys Scout Leader and Troop Eagle Scout Advisor for 7 years. Additionally, Rusty lead disaster recovery efforts for Hurricanes Katrina (2005), Irene (2011) and Maria (2017), including the technical crews that successfully brought power back to the island of Puerto Rico, allowing the University of Puerto Rico Community Hospital to re-open just hours after Hurricane Maria hit. He currently volunteers weekly at Lutheran Church of Hope.
Rusty is married to his wife Connie, who has just retired as a Digital Graphic Designer from People Inc. (formally Dot-Meredith) after 16 years. They have two adult boys (Richie, 31, and Josh, 37), a daughter-in-law (Becca, 32) and have been blessed with a grandson (Emmett, 1). Outside of work, Rusty and his wife like to travel, participate in local social events and spend time with their extended family.
