Vice President of Banking, Payments, and Investments

Scot Kinne

Scot joined Fareway in April 2019, and currently holds the position of Vice President of Banking, Payments, and Investments. Scot manages the corporate banking relationship and the local store bank accounts. He helps to facilitate the collections of customer funds at stores by working with debit and credit card processors, banks, ACH check processors, and other vendors like PayPal and Venmo. Scot is a member of Fareway’s real estate committee, which selects the locations of future stores and works with the director of real estate to acquire properties and formalize development agreements with various governmental entities.           

Scot’s previous experience includes a 28-year career with U.S. Bank. He was most recently Market President of U.S. Bank in Boone, where he was responsible for the growth and profitability. He was also a commercial real estate specialist working with other Midwest commercial lenders at U.S. Bank as a credit approver. During his time at the bank, he was a three-time annual Pinnacle Award winner, a Circle of Service Excellence Award winner, and an annual Legend Possible Award winner.   

In addition to his work experience, Scot holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Iowa.

Scot and his wife own and operate a pair of independent pharmacies in Boone. They are active in the community and help with many local community and school events, the Boone County Hospital Foundation, Boone Noon Kiwanis, and the Boone and Story County University of Iowa Club.   

Scot and his wife, Wendy, are the parents of two adult children, Bret, a pharmacist that lives in Boone and works in the family business and Erin, who lives in Des Moines and works as a commercial portfolio manager at Bankers Trust. Scot and Wendy reside in Boone, Iowa.
