(BOONE, IA) – Fareway Stores, Inc., IAwrestle, and Iowa Corn presented the 15th annual Dan Gable Mr. and Ms. Wrestler of the Year Awards in coordination with the Iowa Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association (IWCOA). Three finalists from each of the three state wrestling classes for the men and three women finalists in two classes attended an awards luncheon banquet Thursday at the Fareway Conference Center in Boone. Fans had the ability to vote once per day for their top wrestler in each category for the women and men on IAwrestle.com.

Public votes were tallied, and the top voted wrestler received an extra vote towards the IWCOA committee vote. The following athletes were recognized as 2024-2025 recipients:

Girls Class 1A: Molly Allen - Riverside, Oakland (winner) Reanah Utterback - Sigourney-Keota Jillian Worthen – Union

Girls Class 2A: Mackenzie Childers - Cedar Rapids Prairie (winner) Katie Biscoglia - Raccoon River Northwest Mahri Manz - Lewis Central

Boys Class 1A: Kyler Knaack - Don Bosco (winner) Blake Fox – Osage Dawson Youngblut - Don Bosco

Boys Class 2A: Jace Hedeman – Union (winner) Jase Jaspers - Mt. Vernon Bo Koedam – Seargent Bluff-Lutton

Boys Class 3A: Christian Castillo – Ames (winner) Nico DeSalvo - Southeast Polk Mac Crosson - Indianola

Presenting the awards this year were former Iowa Hawkeye wrestlers Alex Marinelli (2018- 2022), Mark Ironside (1995-1998) and Hall of Fame wrestler and coach, Dan Gable.
