Fareway Stores, Inc. held a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new store, formerly the site of Sunshine Foods, at 720 E 1st Street in Tea, South Dakota. The 18,500 square foot Fareway store provides only the best in fresh, high quality meat, with full-service butcher counters; farm-fresh produce; low, competitive prices; and the highest level of customer service, including to-your-car carryout.

“We look forward to serving the area residents of Tea and becoming an integral part of this thriving community,” said Fareway President & CEO Reynolds W. Cramer. “We would also like to thank the Svanda family for their hard work and dedication over the last 12 years.” 

“Having a Fareway food store in Tea will be a wonderful addition to our community,” said City of Tea Mayor John Lawler.

“The community would like to extend a warm welcome to Fareway,” said Tea Economic Development Corporation representative Wayne Larson. “We appreciate Fareway’s investment and addition to the retail landscape.”

The store will be managed by Grocery Manager Bryan Youngstrom and Market Manager Brett Kelley. The grand opening of the store is on Wednesday, February 27 at 7 a.m.  

“We are excited about adding this Fareway store to the area to better serve the community,” said Grocery Manager Bryan Youngstrom. “If you don’t immediately find what you are looking for, please ask, and we will do our best to make good on requests.”
