Fareway Stores, Inc., in partnership with Variety – the Children’s Charity, provided a donation of 29 bikes through the YWCA to local children in-need. The contribution is part of a round-up at the register campaign that took place in all Fareway Stores locations.
“Every child should have the opportunity to have his or her own bike, and thanks to Variety’s Bikes for Kids program, bikes, helmets, and locks are being provided to area children who might not otherwise have the opportunity to get a new bike,” said Fareway CEO Reynolds W. Cramer. “There’s no better time for a bike giveaway than the first day of spring. We want to thank our generous customers who have made this donation a reality.”

Proceeds were raised through donations at all Fareway Stores locations. The round-up at the register campaign allowed customers to round-up to the next dollar or provide an additional donation at the time of grocery purchase.
