Fareway Stores, Inc. is working to construct a 5,000 square foot full-service meat market at 3720 Lincoln Way in Ames, in the former Wallaby’s and Sports Page location. The concept originates from Fareway’s 80-year commitment to provide only the best in fresh, high quality meat, with full-service counters. The store will be the third meat market store of its kind for the company, and the first in Iowa.
“We are excited to announce our first stand-alone Fareway Meat Market in Iowa,” said Fareway CEO Reynolds W. Cramer. “Our meat market stores continue to provide for growth potential in areas where a conventional, full size Fareway store may not fit. In these areas, we look to complement surrounding businesses by offering a unique experience. This market will showcase our unmatched, full-service meat department, expanded seafood and sushi, artisan cheeses, high quality wine, craft beer, as well as other unique offerings.”
Pending completion of due diligence, construction will begin on the new market within the next 60 days, with expected completion in Fall 2018. The space is being designed with high end finishes, blending Fareway’s history of fresh tips and ideas with a fresh perspective.
