(JOHNSTON, IA) - Fareway Stores, Inc. opened the doors to its new 42-thousand square foot corporate headquarters in Johnston, bringing nearly 150 team members under one roof.
The building, which previously served as the headquarters for the Iowa Bankers Association, underwent an extensive remodel to accommodate more than seven Fareway departments and staff members.
"Previously our team members were separated between two campuses in Boone," Fareway CEO Reynolds Cramer said. "Now, we can collaborate in a cutting-edge space as we grow into the future."
Cramer expects as many as 200 employees will eventually fill the space.
"We still have roughly 600 employees at our home-base in Boone and we continue to invest in those campuses," Cramer said.
Fareway plans to open six more grocery stores throughout the Midwest in 2025.
