Adel Fareway and their customers give back to the the Good Samaritan Food Pantry.

Adel Grocery Manager, Cory Johnson, regularly works with the Adel Good Samaritan Food Pantry to provide grocery items for those in-need in the Adel, DeSoto, Minburn and Van Meter area. As the season for thanksgiving quickly approached, Cory wanted to do more to bring awareness to the food pantry, their needs and the amount of meals they provide in the local community.
During the week leading up to Thanksgiving, a round-up at the register was conducted – where customers could donate their change, up to the next dollar, to Good Samaritan. The result – more than $1,500 in cash was raised – helping the food pantry continue to provide “meals for a week” to those that need it most.
