SALUTE TO SERVICE CELEBRATES IOWA’S HEROES
Unveiling ceremony recognizes contributions of public service members
NEWS RELEASE (Des Moines) – In conjunction with Governor Reynolds and Lieutenant Governor Gregg, Fareway Stores, Inc. unveiled a series of semi-trucks honoring public service members from throughout the state. The trailers showcased photographs of 24 members from various branches of public service, including the Iowa National Guard, Iowa State Troopers, and local law enforcement agencies.
“This week as the world honors public service members for their ultimate sacrifice, we want to show our appreciation of their everyday commitment to protecting our freedoms,” said Fareway CEO Reynolds W. Cramer. “These trailers are a tribute to the great men and women serving Iowa and we thank them for their service.”
“Our first responders make significant contributions to the State of Iowa and its people,” said Governor Kim Reynolds. “Their tireless efforts, and the sacrifice made by their families, should be honored and commended.”

“It is certainly an honor to be featured,” said Sergeant Nathan Ludwig, Iowa State Patrol. “I am very proud of my fellow troopers and their commitment to courtesy, service, and protection – a mission that dates back 82 years.”
“The Des Moines Police Department is proud of the accomplishments of our officers,” said Sergeant Paul Parizek, Des Moines Police Department. “While not all can be featured, this is a wonderful tribute to all public service men and women, including those that have given the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.”
The trailers will be added to Fareway’s existing fleet, and travel a five-state region including Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, and South Dakota.
