Sparboe Companies partners with Fareway Stores, Inc. to provide 21,600 dozen eggs to the Food Bank of Iowa
Des Moines, IA, December 15, 2016 – Sparboe Companies, a family-owned egg supplier for Fareway Stores, Inc., partnered today to provide a donation of a truckload containing 21,600 dozen eggs to the Food Bank of Iowa in Des Moines. The contribution was made to help brighten spirits this holiday season for those that are food insecure.
“For more than 60 years we have produced affordable eggs for families all across the Midwest,” said Beth Schnell, Sparboe Companies’ President. “Our mission is feeding families - enriching lives, yet at this time of year, we know there are many families who cannot afford even a dozen eggs. Together, with our partner Fareway, we hope this delivery of free eggs will make the holidays a little better for many families.”
“We are proud to partner with wonderful, family-friendly companies, like Sparboe Companies,” said Reynolds W. Cramer, Fareway CEO. “Their commitment to provide for Midwestern families is synonymous with our values; and we are thankful to have them as an egg supplier.”
“We greatly appreciate Sparboe’s generous donation of a truckload of eggs,” said Michelle Book, president & CEO of the Food Bank of Iowa. “Eggs are often a difficult food item for families struggling with hunger to secure. Sparboe’s donation will allow those families access to a highly sought-after part of a nutritious and economical diet, not to mention a key ingredient in many holiday dishes.”
