Fareway Stores, Inc. has property under contract to construct an approximately 30,000 square foot grocery store within the Wakonda Shopping Center located on Fleur Drive in Des Moines, Iowa. Fareway is currently working with the property owner and local officials on details of the redevelopment.
The property owner and Fareway intend to demolish a portion of the existing shopping center in order for Fareway to build its customary full-service grocery store. Amenities of the new store will include Fareway’s unmatched meat department, farm-fresh produce, low, competitive prices, and the highest level of customer service.
“Everyone is working hard to open a Fareway store at the Wakonda Shopping Center as soon as possible,” said Fareway President and Chief Operating Officer Frederick R. Greiner, “The retail center has served local residents for decades and we are excited to become a part of such an iconic center.”
